Another fun night at Teakwoods. That pretty much goes without saying.

Photobox ImageJoe was amazing. Watching him play blows my mind. He's so seemless, the guitar is really like an extension of his body. I can't get over the fact that he throws in all this finger picking, but there is nothing in his right hand motion that indicates anything but a strum. The sounds he coaxes out of that tiny guitar really blow my mind. We showed up a few minutes for his set, but caught most of it, including great versions of Midnight Radio, Laying Down Lost and Rain.

Photobox ImageDead Hot was great. The benefits of the new PA at Teakwoods was immediately obviously. Not only did it make everyone sound a lot better (not that there was a problem with the sound at Teakwoods necessarily previously) and also really opens up the view of the stage. No longer is Thomas almost hidden behind a PA speaker.

It was nice to get to the couch tonight. Setlist wise the show was quite similar to other shows we've seen recently. The 3 new songs were stand outs again. One thing that I love about Dead Hot at Teakwoods is that you get two fair decent sets. The night ended with an exit from the stage after Noam Chomsky that honesty was worthy of an Olympic gold medal. [smile]
